This procedure is done on an
outpatient basis and can be done fairly quickly, sometimes in as little as 20
minutes. Most people are back at work within 48 hours. After the procedure, a
lot of people feel like they need to have a bowel moment, but this symptom goes
away over the next two days. There is a minimum of post-operative bleeding and
in some cases no bleeding. This procedure also results in a minimum of long
term side effect associated with hemorrhoidectomies such as infection,
fissures, incontinence and anal bleeding.
