Are you considering home remedies for your haemorrhoids? If you want a natural remedy to help shrink them down, here’s what you need to know.

Are you considering home remedies for your haemorrhoids? If you want a natural remedy to help shrink them down, here’s what you need to know.

According to Dr. Massarat  Zutshi a colorectal surgeon, “you first realize that haemorrhoids normally do not hurt, but may bleed painlessly.”

She added that if they do hurt, the haemorrhoids may have moved to the outside of the anal canal (or prolapsed) during a bowel movement and can become enlarged. If the haemorrhoids develop a blood clot, or become thrombosed they can become especially painful.

There are many ways people may try to shrink down painful haemorrhoids, which might be helpful at best or harmful at worst.
But before you try possible home treatments, proper diagnosis is important and critical.

Your Recovery

Most of the pain that was caused by your abscess will probably go away right after surgery. But you may have some mild pain in your anal area from the incision for several days after the surgery. Most people can go back to work or their normal routine 1 or 2 days after surgery. It will probably take about 2 to 3 weeks for your abscess to completely heal.
Most people get better without any problems. But sometimes a tunnel can form between the old abscess and the outside of the body. This is called a fistula. Your doctor will check for this about 2 to 3 weeks after surgery. If you develop a fistula, the doctor will do surgery to repair the fistula.
This care sheet gives you a general idea about how long it will take for you to recover. But each person recovers at a different pace. Follow the steps below to get better as quickly as possible.

ANAL ABSCESS AND FISTULA

ANAL ABSCESS AND FISTULA
An anal abscess is an infected cavity filled with pus near the anus or rectum.

An anal fistula (also called fistula-in-ano) is a small tunnel that tracks from an opening inside the anal canal to an outside opening in the skin near the anus. An anal fistula often results from a previous or current anal abscess. As many as 50% of people with an abscess get a fistula. However, a fistula can also occur without an abscess.

Hemorrhoid Treatment By Laser

Laser surgery results in much less post-operative pain, and the recovery time is also shorter than other hemorrhoids treatment methods such as conventional hemorrhoid surgery or hemorrhoidectomy.

Hemorrhoid Treatment By New Procedure

Ultrasound

This procedure is done on an outpatient basis and can be done fairly quickly, sometimes in as little as 20 minutes. Most people are back at work within 48 hours. After the procedure, a lot of people feel like they need to have a bowel moment, but this symptom goes away over the next two days. There is a minimum of post-operative bleeding and in some cases no bleeding. This procedure also results in a minimum of long term side effect associated with hemorrhoidectomies such as infection, fissures, incontinence and anal bleeding.

Hemorrhoidal Artery Ligation

There is another option to remove a hemorrhoid called Hemorrhoidal Artery Ligation (HAL), also known as Transanal Hemorrhoidal Dearterialization (THD). In this method, it locates the blood vessels causing the hemorrhoid using an ultrasound and ligates, or closes off, those blood vessels. This is more effective than rubber banding, but also has a higher cost and has longer-lasting pain result. This is the first option if the first rubber banding fails depending on the type of hemorrhoid.
